.GLORIA. we lied && « Thread Started on May 29, 2007, 5:23pm »
Fingers fluttered with ease over the keys of the piano, as the sixteen year old played the beginning of a song she'd been working on. Dark circles were slowly finding their way underneth the girl's eyes, going without sleep for thirty six hours--and counting--did that to you. But the last thing that the girl possibly wanted to do was sleep, the very thought of shutting her eyes was scaring her. If this was the punishment she was getting for not taking her meds, Roxy wasn't still sure if it was even worth it. That's what she hated about her 'disorder', no she didn't like it, it came with a label. Girl-with-disease she hated it. Hated the way the people that knew looked at her, like she was sick. Frail, on the edge, about to break. No, Roxy was not her illness. She was as sane as you and me, with a few minor axiety problems.
A bad makeup job had been done, in an attempt to cover up the circles. And if anything, it had only made them that much worse. Feeling the thoughts of sleep creep into her head again, the girl blinked twice before concentrating back down on her fingers. She parted her lips to begin, but missed a beat. She continued playing, glaring down at her fingers, strong from ten years of pressing keys. Oh yes, the keyboards were supposed to be Bradley's instrument, but the piano had been Roxy's first love. And it would always be that way. Going through the last few bars of the introduction the girl parted her lips again, suddenly becoming aware that River, Jock, Bradley, and Levi were in the room with her. Her fingers fumbled a bit, but her voice came out of her throat this time. "Shadows all around you as you surface from the dark. Emerging from the gentle grip of night's unfolding arms." She continued playing, her quite airy voice floating through the room, she closed her eyes for a moment, relaxing almost. "Darkness, darkness everywhere, do you feel all alone?" And she missed the high note, the sixteen year old's voice quivered slightly. Almost in fear, her fingers ceased moving and sudden wave of sadness building itself inside of her. Placing one arm on the top of the paino and resting her head against it, Roxy sighed, shutting her eyes again, "Fuck." But Roxy knew better than to burst out crying in front of everyone, even if she wanted to.
Breathing in deeply again she moved herself of the instrument, turning so her back was facing to the keys. Liquid brown optics danced over the others before turning to her shorts clad legs. Crossing one over the other she turned her attention back to them, "We have a show, gig, whatever, in like..." She looked up at the ceiling, couting, "I dunno two weeks? What the hell are we playing?"

Bradley walked into the recording studio with a smile head on. Of course he was happy to be here. Happier than he was in a long time. With a black sweater and hood over his brown hair and black skinny jeans. Even with that, it was quite apparent that the boy was very tired from a long day of work and staying up nights before. Walking in the room with six water bottles in his hand, he nearly dropped them all as he made a attempt to set them down. Which was not the smartest idea. He was never to smooth when it came to walking and carring something at the same time. The rest of the gang new that. The only one Bradley hadn't grown up with besides River was Levi. He had met him through Roxy. Other than that, he didn't know him that well. He seemed like a nice guy from what he saw and was told he was a great musician. That was all he needed to hear.
Setting down the water bottles on the piano that Roxy was playing. He took off the black baseball cap that was on his head and through it over with his beg-o-stuff. In the room as well were some guitars, amps, microphones, and River's drumset with her famous hot pink drumsticks that she carried every where she went. That was River for you. Bradley only had a voice and a piano that he could play. A little bit of the guitar, but not as good as his good old friends. Roxy and Jocklin were all about that. Plus, Roxy had a amazing voice that she needed to share with the world. Walking over to a over stressed Roxy. He played a few random keys by her head. "Fuck what?" He asked her with a teasing smile. Even though he new that Roxy would give him a sour face back at him like she always did.
After getting a gig and Levi, the band was all set. They had it all and they were all amazing at this. You know, like the kids that would hide in the closet and never say a word in class, yet you know that they will be something someday. As for this group of friends, they always talked and never really stopped, yet still you know they were chosen for this. Looking at Roxy will a smile on his face. "I know. I'm excited are you guys? This was like our childhood dream." And it sure was. Since day one when they were five or six and started singing and playing guitars and all that, that was what they chose to do and nothing else. Bradley was a huge band-geek. Putting on his hideous black thick framed glasses. "I have no idea. What were you thinking besides the fact that it is an 80s dance?"
bradley! i love you sarah. thanks so fucking much for the awesome sig <3333

What’s the best nation? Procrastination! And who was the almighty king of the procrastinators? Levi just happened to be pretty damn close to that title. Let’s see, a huge English project due in a few days, and only a few jot notes where littered over his page, desk, and hand. Head, please meet wall. But right now, he was almost late for going to meet the band, and he wasn’t really in the greatest mood for the homework. So instead, he swiveled in his chair, so glad for rolly chairs, and stood up, his back cracking as he did. He’d been sitting too long. He sauntered over to where he had throw his bass the other night, and gathered up the case, and chords, sleep washing over him. Why did so many things have to collide together? He’d rather ditch the school work, and focus on the up coming dance they where playing at. He left his dorm, to head out to the parking lot, his case dragging behind him. Not much tolerance for his equipment.
Levi had sped through the lanes like a manic. Well, he is one, so. Walking into the music studio, not bothering to ply off his huge sunglasses, he tossed his case onto the floor, a large noise echoing out. Levi stood there for a few minutes, looking down at his discarded bass. He wanted to give it a big hug. But that would be very creepy, and the room was full. He didn’t know the other band mates that well, only really knowing Roxy, who was on her piano, pouring over her music. He walked over to the piano, to watch her play, resting his chin on the top. As she missed a note, she seemed to take it badly. After a curse, Levi stepped away from the piano, not saying anything. He didn’t want a sheet thrown at him. But had Bradley came over, which is when Levi had his leave to go over to his case. Bending down, no doubt exposing his boxers, Levi pulled out his shiny bas.
Yes, he had polished it. It was jus the kind of boy he was. Treat the covering like shit, but the actual instrument, with some care. He slung it over his shoulder, and turned back, and walked back over to the piano again, looking at the strings. 80’s dance? His head shot back up, frowning slightly, “eighties theme?” he asked, no need to ask. “We should defiantly play some Michael Jackson song.” He laughed, hanging his head down again, to focus on the strings. He softly plucked the start of Beat it, just for his comment. He looked up, still playing. He nodded his head to the tone, smiling. “Yeah.” He said softly, dragging out the 'eah', stopping his strumming, feeling weird. Russet eyes looked down at the piano, resting his hand on the wood. He leaned against it, drumming his fingers on the top. “Two weeks is a little short notice, but I think we’ll so just fine.” He said, with a shrug, but a months notice was too short for him. he looked back up again, this time at Bradley. "Oh my god. Your glasses. I've fallen in love." he gasped, wanting to touch the black. They just screamed '80's' to him. He smiled, keeping his hands to himself.

The first thhing that ran through River's mind was oh shit. Two weeks was no time. None at all. But, she knew that they could do it. It would be a whole other, but the people she worked with were just idiots at times. As talented as Bradley and Jocklin were, they would talk none stop about topics that weren't even related to the music or go off and have conversations were you don't even know what they are saying. It gave her and Roxy a headache. How could you work with people that you couldn't even understand? That made River slightly scared about all this. Corssing her legs that were soaked by the sun. Brushing her blond hair out of her face with her big sunglasses over her head. Wearing a small black sundress and a pink sweater. It was obious she was tired with her poor make-up job.
Walking over to the piano and restind her chin on the shiny black by Bradley and Levi. Turning to him with a grin when he asked his question, she moved her hand up towards his head and flicked him across the head. Moving back, she tapped a empty water bottle on her thigh and threw it out. The room was familier to her and was told it was theres as long as they needed it. River was River and seeing Levi expose his nice boxers she couldn't help. Walking over to him she snapped the tip of his boxers with her nails. Nice boxers, Levi. She said and walked over to her drums and picked up her hot pink drum sticks with her name written all over them. Her drumsticks were her life, well drummer for that matter. The sticks moved everywhere she went. If there was a fire, she would go back in for her sticks. Mainly because they were only hers and no one in the world had anything like them. Unless, there name was River and there favorite colour was hot pink. She was new with the band. Just meeting Roxy this year and then meeting Bradley and Jocklin a little after. She didn't know Levi that well. The only one who knew him the most was Roxy and all we heard about him was that he was a good bass and he was ours.
That was all she needed to hear as well. Picking up her sticks, she sat behind her drums on the stool. Playing a small beat with the simbol and timpany and tapping her foot. Stopping to hear Levi. Oh! Michael Jackson. Thats a good idea. Although, I don't think that Bradley or Roxy can sing anywhere near him. Maybe Roxy. Bradley doesn't have a high enough voice and doesn't sound like a girl. She said, slightly poking fun at Michael Jackson. We could do B-52 with Love Shack. Or Bon Jovi or Madonna. Yeah, I only really know girl groups. She said with a smile, laughing at Levi's comment about Bradley's glasses. He is such a geek. She teased.

Jocklin hadn't seen his friends in a long time. Well, he didn't really have as much time on his hands as he did a little while ago, but he does now. After becoming sober, yes the sober where you don't drink. He was sick of Roxy and everyone negging on him about that, so he stopped and sobered up. Finding that it wasn't as easy as he thought it would be. No one wants to be drunk at a gig. Getting sober wasn't the same as staying sober. Waking up early in the morning to come down here was a nice wakening suprise. Happy that they got a gig for once in there life. Walking into the recording room with his old leather guitar case. It was his first quitar case from forever ago and his father gave it to him. It had stickers of all countries he had been too, places he had played, and people signed it that he met on the road. It was his one thing that no one could ever touch or take away from him. It was really only the thing that he was proud of.
Wearing a tight black shirt and a black sweater with old baggy jeans that dragged along the floor as he moved his converse covered feet. He was known for wearing a lot of jackets and sweaters all year round. But, it was a little chilly out today. His sweater hood was covered in pins and his hair was a long enough where he should get it cut, but liked it a little longer and dark. A nice black studded belt and his arms covered in tattoos were mostly hidden by his jackets but his fingers. Jocklin had more than enough guitars. Although, he always had two favorite. He had his white guitar and his small shiny black one, which was the one he brought because he usually didn't like to preform with it. Sitting down on the couch, he walked over to the piano and stood by it as Roxy played and River ending up flicking Bradley's head. Turning over, he walked back towards the couch and took out his guitar. It didn't have any any marks or anything, but you could tell that he took good care of it and that he had played it a lot. The only thing that was on the guitar was a cigarette burn on the edge of it where he had mistaken it for a tabel and put it out on the guitar by mistake. He was real pissed, and pretty much quit smoking after that or at least around his guitars.
Plugging the guitar into the amplifire he strumed it once and turned up towards whoever was talking at that moment. Isn't B-52 a girls group? I don't know. It's up to Roxy and Bradley. There the ones that are singing. He said as he strummed once more on the guitar and went to go take a seat on the couch.

Moving over to hit Bradley about his comment, she missed, and her hand whipped through air before the sixteen year old stood up. She socked him on the arm, "Fuck you." Optics glared at him for a moment, before pulling the hood down from his head. Eyes wandered over to the water bottles and picked up one, forcing the top open and taking a drink out of it. She flipped her bangs before setting the bottle down on the piano, and took a hair band from her wrist, tying her hair up in a messy ponytail. "You still wear those geeky things? I thought I'd broke them." Roxy raised her eyebrows at his glasses before shruging and leaning against the piano, head tilted to the side.
The girl grinned when she got a full view of Levi's boxers, but before she could make a smart comment, River had beat her to it. Snapping them. "Yeah they are," she turned her attention to the other girl, "Have you ever seen Bradley's boxers." She pretended to shudder, "I almost had a heartattack. Why were you wearing snowmen undies in July anyway?" She questioned, brown optics wandering back to Bradley. Roxy laughed, "Anything but Thriller, please." She grinned as he began to play, in what was her opinion the best song by him. "Exactly, I less than three that song." Uh oh, computer geek Roxy was making her entrance. She shook her head, "Trust me it isn't. When was it? Ninth grade talent show? Both of us forgot the words, I still have nightmares about that."
The junior yawned quietly, hand covering her mouth as she did so. "I have a pretty low voice for a girl, and I have like, less than an octave's range." She grinned, stating the reason for doing back up." Her smile widened slightly, as River mentioned one of her favourite bands of all time. Oh yes, Roxy was pretty messed up. "I'll give you a fish, and candy, I'll give you everything I have in my hand." She turned her head to Bradley, "Of course, it'll make him sound confused. But Bon Jovi is a must."
Pushing herself of the piano she sat beside Jock, staring at the headstock for a moment, before reaching her hand out and tuning the A string. One thing that pissed her off was when things were out of tune.

"Ow." He said after Roxy hit him in the arm rather hard. "Sorry Roxy, but my zipper is closed at the moment." He said as he trying to swipe at her hands as she pulled down his hood. Standing up with the hood over his eyes. "Aww, I can't see a goddamn thing." He said as he walked over behind Roxy and wrapped his arms around her nack giving her a huge hug. "Oh, I love you too Roxy." He teased her. Then he moved over to around the piano. "Um, you did to my old pair because those were geeky. I just got these and made sure to keep them out of your reach." He said to her. Since there was the fact that he was told he would have to pay for them if he broke another pair and that would mean he would have to get ugly glasses. At the moment, he was buying a van for the band with the help of Roxy and River and Jock, so he didn't really have any money to buy anything else. Even though glasses were a little important than a car because you can't see the road even if you had the car to drive it.
Scrunching his eyebrows together as Roxy commented about his undies. Slapping her arm lightly. "Hey, you weren't supposed to tell anyone about that. I don't do that anymore, honestly River." He said turning towards River and then back at Roxy with one foot on the piano bench. Laughing about Roxy mentioning the Thriller. "I love that song, though." He ajusted the hat on his head. "That was so fun, but it wasn't my idea to do a one of his songs. I got enough look as it was telling people I was doing Thriller. I got laughed at for a week because of her." He said pointing a finger at Roxy.
"Lie. You have a high voice and you know it." He yawned himself. "Like when you scream at me. That isn't a low." He said. He thought she had a high pitched voice. From at least what he head heard. She was also just loud too. "Bon Jovi? Um, that might not be the best idea. I love him and I know we have to do him, but my voice isn't so Bon Jovi type. We can make it more modern like people do in our own way. That would be nice." He said, deciding to stop talking because now he couldn't even follow what in the world he was saying, yet alone from the blank stares he got back whenever he opening his mouth.
